Painting Lessons

ARTIST & INSTRUCTOR

Please note:

I am taking a sabbatical to work on my own paintings during the Fall 2017 semester.

There will be no painting lessons from Aug 2017-Jan 2018

Clay and Mixed media classes will continue as usual.

Learn how to paint with Oils or Pastels in a fun and supportive atmosphere, no matter what your level of experience. During class, I share my knowledge and techniques for painting in a variety of styles, giving individualized instruction to each student. Class sizes are never more than 4 students, which means that students can work on their own paintings with guidance and direction. I encourage students to develop their own technique and paint whatever subject matter inspires them.

Beginning students will learn how to set up a palette of colors, how to mix colors, handle brushes and the basics of getting started in either Oil painting or Pastel work.

Adult & Teen Painting Classes

I teach Oil Painting and Pastel to Teens and  Adults from age 14 and up in semi-private lessons. Class size is 4 students or less, and each session is 3 hours long, with a short break for tea midway. Come learn the techniques of the impressionists and old masters in a friendly and relaxed environment where each person's own creativity and style is encouraged. Students have the option of bring all their own materials to work with, or purchasing a beginner's kit. Please see the supply list below. I am happy to answer all of your questions about supplies via phone or email

Full lesson is one 3-hour session:  $35

Materials: Because it is important for beginning students to use the correct paints, brushes and canvases, I have put together a beginner's kit for the after-school classes with all of the paints, brushes, tools, cleaner and palette needed to begin oil painting. This also includes one canvas. (After the first painting, the student will need to bring their own canvases, or purchase them at the studio.)

The components in the beginner's kit would cost over $235 if purchased individually, but since I am able to buy the items in bulk, I am able to offer the kit for $145(Note: I am simply passing on my savings. I do not make any profit at all from supplies. Also this price is subject to change, depending on my actual costs.
