The Carmel Coastline, on a foggy day is
an intensely dramatic sight. The rocks,
the cool sea breeze and ocean spray
and the gnarled trees set the mood. This
spot I chose to paint is along the famous
17-mile drive.

This famous tree on 17 mile drive in
Carmel  has inspired artists for decades.
It is a delight to try and capture the view
and the feeling of the place with it's salty
breeze and the deep blue of the water.
The Laguna Beach coastline,
with its rocks and palm trees is
full of variations in shape and
color. I wanted to give an
impressionistic view of the way
light plays on the colors

These children are playing on the beach
at Pajaro Dunes (Watsonville, CA) They
seem to be greatly amused by the antics
of a sandcrab ... the simple pleasures of
childhood.
This is a view of the Monterey Coastline
that is very familiar to me. It is right off
Cannery Row and there is always activity
going on, whether people are walking,
jogging, kayaking or just staring out at the
beautiful water. It is a happy scene that I
wanted to capture on canvas.

The sight of these darling birds (Plover)
running back and forth, dancing with the
waves amused me so much that I had to
paint it. This beach is in Watsonville,
California.
These children are my
nieces and nephews .
The youngest one, in the
foreground, was still in
diapers. He is holding
back, content to watch the
others get near the water
This scene on the beach in Watsonville,
near Monterey really touched me. I love
the way the 3 boys are building
something in the sand together, yet each
one is in his own world. The best of
friends, absolutely contented on this
beautiful day on the beach.
