On a recent trip to Ireland, we stayed in a
charming town named Ballyvaughan. On
our daily walk we would pass by these
sheep in a field. I love the little one with
the black face.

When our ducks were babies, they ran off and we
found them snuggled together under the blackberry
vines. My son grabbed a camera and crawled in to get
this picture, and retrieve the ducklings. I used pastels
for this painting, to capture their softness.

This is an impressionistic painting of the
Mother Duck with her duckling. I enjoyed
focusing on the colors that were being
reflected off the water and feathers.

These are my ducks experiencing their
first snowfall. I heard loud quacking and
went outside to find them all marching in
a circle, quacking with delight. It is a
wonderful memory.

While walking on the beach in Watsonville, I spied this
Otter playing in the waves... diving, getting his food and
then laying on his back to eat. I walked out into the
water with my camera, being careful not to disturb him,
but he seemed to like the attention. He let me get this
close to him to snap the photo, which I then painted in
my studio..
